Dealing with passion and purpose my soul purpose is to inspire other in Christ. Rather it be personal blog entries or interviews with other Christians. I wanted to do something different with the blog add a little zest and some sauce. (Humor) I have been following Wayne Josh for a while, lyrically he is phenomenal! There is passion in his lyrics you can tell he raps from his heart. He is spiritually led and he is a leader exactly what we need in the kingdom. Being on vine, Instagram and his daily post; he is someone you should be listening to or having down your timeline every morning for inspiration!
1. First and foremost tell us about Wayne Josh who is he?
- I am 23 years old, Combat Veteran [Army], Husband [Going on 4years], && Father of two girls. Currently In school for my associates Degree in Audio Production from Full Sail University. Im all about spreading God and anything inspirational or positive! Oh yea, i am also an Aspiring Christian/Inspirational Artist!
2. What was your first encounter with Christ like and when did this occur?
-My first encounter with Christ was when i got baptized at the age of 8, but being young and not fully understanding I didn’t stick with it and allowed it to fade. At the age of 16 though, i was invited to Kids Across America [KAA] a Christian Sports Camp i’d say. EVERYTHING was about God and it opened my eyes to how much God played a role in my life. After Three days there i was giving my life to him! Thats where i wrote my first Christian/Inspirational Rap.
3. How do you stay focused with Christ and what would you say to encourage others?
-The way i keep my focus on Christ is by just allowing Him to take control; prayer. Not saying that i dont have moments where i lose focus, but through the years ive learn to be able to keep better focus by allowing him to have control. When im angry i pray. Sad i pray. Stressed i pray, && immediately its all gone away! That helps me keep my focus! [if that makes sense]
4. What is your favorite bible verse and why?
-Proverbs 3:5 HANDS DOWNS! [ i have too many ] I chose that scripture because its to the point. We know our understanding isnt perfect, we dont view things from the way God sees things.. So once we learn to trust in him WHOLE-HEARTEDLY we will learn to live care free becuase our vision will begin to to align with his!
5. What inspired you to get started with inspirational speaking and Christian Rap music?
-I use to write in High School about the same ole stuff in the secular world, but i also wrote poems about my emotions, issues, stresses.. At KAA 116 Clique Showed up and SHOWED OUT && INSTANTLY God sparked a flame that wouldnt let out.. My Depressed Poems Changed to hope filled messages.. My hope Filled messages then flowed into a musical Form which is where i am now. My aim with music is to share a Spiritually based positive message!
6. I want to talk about your song Amazing Love, I love that beat and song ! What inspired you to produce that? What was on your mind, how were you feeling at that moment?
-Honestly This song was a blessing waiting to happen because i ran into a DJ on Vine [@DjStro504] who loved what i was doing for Christ && gave me the beat free of charge! That same night i wrote the full song within 20 mins! The spirit just flowed and the beat just moved me.. The old school vibe with the upbeat && that chorus made me think about Gods loves. My feelings were to tell folks about how amazing his love is.. Show folks how as a whole we have drifted from where we use to be with God. This song just hit my spirit and brought alot of things ive had on my heart :) i could explain for days! Glory to God!
7. Are you working on any up and coming music, if so what is your inspiration for that?
-Why yes i am working on new music currently, quite a bit! Been doing some collabs with some other bomb Underground Christian Artists. Im working on a mixtape with my bro DronTheDj titled “3Mix”, for the youth, it will consist of Christian Remixes to popular secular songs to give them a better message. Im also working on My own mixtape coming out early 2015 [day not set] and it is titled, “#BetterThanOrdinary” and the vibe for the mixtape will be the same as all my music which tryin to change the upcoming generation. We need to be better than the norm and want better. I want to give them a nice flow, over a nice beat plus GREAT substance to learn from… GIVING GOD ALL THE GLORY!
8. What is your real feel on rap music in a Christian perspective, it gets so much backlash do you feel like it is helpful to the world?
-I think rap is awesome from the right person. Some folks push the wrong messages and then turn around and talk about thats all they knew, not realizing that will be all they will ever be knowing if we keep recycling the same non-sense into each generation.
9. With all the worldly things that are on vine, Instagram and other social networks, what would you tell others not to follow or what to follow so that they could stay focused?
-Honestly there are too many folks to name only some, but my view is anything should be ok to follow if you dont allow it to change you. I mainly follow pages about Christ, Inspiration, Motivation.. Just anything uplifting..
10. With someone who is feeling anguished, or displeased with themselves how do you inspire them to continue to move on and push them towards Christ?
-Your appearance to this world should not matter because God made you who you are for a reason. Every freckle, scar, mole, flaw, or hurt that you have was placed on you to shape you into God wants you to be. I myself was displeased with myself at a point in life and i had to learn that Christ thinks im wonderfully made and precious. So cheer up, Jesus thought we all were great enough to die for!
11. What is something that God placed on your heart that you would like to share with everyone?
-I say this everyone, there is always a calm after the storm. Some storms last longer than others but we have a God that controls that storm and says he wont give more than you can bear. So just hold on in there and have faith because your breakthrough is coming && God isnt finished. Have Patience as well..
